Youth Violence Prevention

Youth Violence Prevention helps youth facing elevated risk of violence or gang involvement by providing credible messenger outreach, crisis response, mentorship, and restorative support so they can stabilize, reconnect, and build safer paths forward.

What It Is

Neutral Ground's Youth Violence Prevention program is built for the moments when young people are closest to falling through the cracks. This includes youth experiencing ongoing conflict, exposure to violence, school instability, or pressure related to gang involvement.

The program is led by credible messengers - staff who bring lived experience, community trust, and the ability to engage young people in ways traditional systems often cannot. Support is relationship-based, consistent, and designed to meet youth where they are, not where systems expect them to be.

Who It Serves

Youth experiencing ongoing conflict, exposure to violence, school instability, or pressure related to gang involvement.

What Support Looks Like

Services may include crisis response, conflict mediation, mentorship, family engagement, case planning, and connection to resources. Staff often work across multiple environments - school campuses, neighborhoods, and community spaces - to maintain continuity and trust.

Crisis Response

Immediate support during moments of escalation or risk.

Conflict Mediation

Facilitated resolution to reduce harm and prevent retaliation.

Mentorship

Ongoing relationship-based guidance from credible messengers.

Family Engagement

Working with families to strengthen support systems at home.

Case Planning

Individualized plans that address each person's specific needs and goals.

Resource Connection

Linking youth and families to services, opportunities, and support networks.

The goal is not short-term compliance. The goal is stabilization, accountability, and long-term redirection toward safer and more sustainable paths.
