What It Is
Restorative Circles are facilitated processes that bring individuals together to address conflict, repair harm, and rebuild trust. These circles are used in both school and community settings and can range from proactive relationship-building circles to responsive circles following incidents of conflict or harm.
Neutral Ground's approach to restorative practice emphasizes accountability, communication, and emotional safety. Participants are guided through structured dialogue that allows them to reflect on impact, take responsibility, and work toward repair.
The program also includes healing circles for youth experiencing specific challenges, such as having incarcerated parents or navigating trauma.
Rather than relying solely on punishment or exclusion, restorative circles provide an alternative approach that helps individuals remain connected to their community while addressing behavior in a meaningful way.
